Victorian sailors Guy Bancroft and David Grace have been crowned B14 World Champions after the final race in near survival conditions in Carnac in France.

This is the second world title for Bancroft after winning in 2009 in Hobart with crew Nic Darlow.

It was an Ashes type battle as the B14 skiff is predominatly sailed in Australia and the UK. Fellow McCrae Yacht Club sailors Scott Cunningham and Jason Walker held off Nick Craig and Matt Johnson from GBR for an Aussie 1 & 2 on the podium. David Lorimer and Rafael Heale took fourth.

With the final races held in borderline conditions with Cunningham and Walker cartwheeling just before the start of race 8.

The next worlds are scheduled for Perth in 2012 - will it be three in a row for Bancroft?
